On this very day, in 1928, Sir C V Raman discovered a new effect about the Molecular Diffraction of Light, which later came to be known as the famed "Raman Effect". This notable contribution to Science won India it's 1st Nobel Prize. This auspicious moment which is to remembered every second is hardly known. Isn't it a tragedy that people hardly know about its significance to Science and our own Community. Isn't it time for us to awaken our sleepy souls and kindle the passion for knowledge.
